GOM Inspect, now rebranded as ZEISS INSPECT is a free and powerful tool for not only 3D metrology but also for viewing, comparing and repairing large STL files. Since ZEISS enshittified the software, you can only officially download it with sign up and it's packed with bloat. So here is the 2019 version (pre bullshit) for download here.
